Great Beginnings Montessori School
A Montessori education emphasizes learning through all five senses, not just through listening, watching, or reading. Children in Montessori classes learn at their own individual pace and according to their own choice of activities from hundreds of possibilities. The environment is arranged according to subject area, and children are always free to move around the room instead of staying at desks.
Durham Elementary Private School
D.E.P.S offers a challenging and diversified curricular program. Our dedicated O.C.T qualified Teachers promote both character and skill development within a supportive environment. Our classes are taught at an enrichment level and we follow the Ontario Curriculum. Our students are taught French, Music, Piano and Physical Education by specialized, qualified teachers. At our school we do not let a student’s weakness in a subject or strand get “swept under the rug”. We encourage and support children to move ahead if they are academically and socially capable.
Durham Academy Secondary School
Community involvement activities are an important part of the school’s program. Students must complete a minimum of 40 hours of community service as part of the requirements for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. The aim is to encourage students to develop an awareness of the role they can play in supporting their communities.

We offer a full range of classes, serving families of Toddlers 18 months to age 5 G.B.M.S, Grade 1 to Grade 8 D.E.P.S, & Grade 9 to 12 Durham Academy. Summer Camp
Great Beginnings Montessori School and Durham Elementary Private School has offered a two week March Break Camp for the past six years as the school program is closed for the two weeks of March Break. Our March Break Camps are programmed to be an interactive fun camp of songs, games, crafts, drama, baking, sports and much more.
As always, our camps are committed to creating a safe and fun learning environment which continues with our current schedule that offers our students consistency and comfort.
